We purposely stayed in Ennis on our last night in Ireland due to its close proximity to Shannon airport, from where we were flying to London the next day. Here is a quick recap of where we’ve traveled thus far.
We left Kinsale on Wednesday and visited Killarney National Park, then traveled south to Kenmare, where we spent the night. The following morning, we drove (in the rain) to Dingle, where we stayed for two nights. On our second day in Dingle, we made a trip out to the Great Blasket Island Center in Dunquin, passing through Ventry Beach and Slea Head both ways before getting back to Castlewood House in Dingle.
From Dingle, we headed to the Cliffs of Moher in Liscannor on Saturday morning, avoiding the congested drive through Limerick by taking the Tarbert-Killimer Ferry, stayed in Ennis that evening, and then made our way to Shannon Airport. We drove a total of approximately 535 miles (860 km) around the southern half of the country in 7 days before we dropped the rental at the airport on Sunday morning.
Here is a map indicating the places we stopped or stayed.
