Dawn and Kevin

King’s Cross

We left Green Park and headed over to King’s Cross Tube station, which is conveniently located next to the King’s Cross National Rail Station, from which our train to Leeds would leave the following morning. We found the area where the platforms are located, and though we didn’t yet know which one our train would depart from, it was good to get a general idea of where we’d need to be in about 17 hours.

We immediately searched for a particular spot, Platform 9 3/4, made famous in the Harry Potter novels and films. Fittingly, there is a Harry Potter shop at this location, which appears to do very well.  There is a sign marking the nonexistent platform, as well as the opportunity to have your photo taken with a cart that is halfway through the brick wall.  The queue for photos was always quite long, so we passed on that. We did however, pick up a few trinkets from the store and then went to the pub next to it for some refreshment.
