Matt at Webster Hall
When Muse announced a special promo show in NYC, we knew we wanted to be there. We also knew that it was going to take a miracle to get tickets to see them in such a small venue.
As a longtime subscriber to the Muse website / forum, I was given a presale code for tickets. I knew this would be the only way we’d have a shot, as the general onsale would undoubtedly be a total nightmare.
I tried for 2 hours but came up empty, some friends of mine got lucky and were able to get two pair between them. It seemed we were not going to make it to this show and I was ready to give up when I received a message and then phone call from a friend. She had returned from a meeting to find that she somehow had two tickets in her cart, and was not yet logged in to the TicketWeb site. Since this was to be a ticketless event, she logged into my account and purchased the tickets for me so they would be under my name.
We went out for pre show drinks and dinner with a group of friends and then made our way over to Webster Hall. Upon arrival, I simply showed my license and we were banded and admitted to the venue. The show was ridiculously oversold, crowded and incredibly hot, as we fully expected it would be. It was also a phenomenal gig and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely. We capped off the night by going out for a beer with the same group of friends after the show.
